Night and Day

Sponsors That Keep Fish Tank Pet Alive:

fishtankpet sunrise Night and DayFresh from my post on How long to keep your Aquarium Lights on, Justin reminded me that I forgot to mention fish need night as much as day.

As we all know, our goal for aquarium lighting is to recreate the natural habitat of our fish, corals, reefs or plants. And this doesn’t just mean the daytime, the night is just as important. This could mean turning of the lights completely or using one of those Lunar LEDs.

Just imagine living under bright lights under 24 hours and you’ll understand the importance of day and night cycles.

What if you don’t follow this? Well, an imbalance in these cycles could cause stress to your organisms and result in poor health and interruptions to natural behaviour cycles like spawning and even feeding.

Thanks Justin.
