so i bought one a while ago for my female betta, set it up, and fell in love. i love it! i have 2 cats, so it was important to me to find something easy to use and easy to keep away from kitties. i loved it so much, i just ordered 2 more for 2 other betta fish. the cats love to watch them, but still cant get to them! theyre really easy to mount (it took me 3 mins with my power drill to get a screw in the wall, and hang it) and theyre easily removed for cleaning. havent had any leaking problems with it either. i would definitely recommend this to anybody who has kids or cats (even any other pets) and wants a betta fish. its the perfect safe solution!

I’ve had this aquarium for quite a few years now and it’s held up to a lot of abuse. I just recently dug it out of storage again to house a new betta and I’m surprised at how clear the acrylic still is. My other plastic tanks have gotten so badly scratched you can hardly see the fish. Not this little guy! The biggest drawbacks in my opinion is the lack of lighting. It has a dark lid and you don’t get the full effect of your colorful betta without shining some light on it. I also don’t find it big enough to keep two betta in and recommend taking out the divider. Your fish will be much more entertaining for you with some room to move.

Compact, small light gives off some heat for Betta. I bought 10 to give to each of my grandchildren. So far have kept all. I set up 4 for display. The light is flashlight size and replaceable. Comes with 2 lights. The light is adjustable gooseneck design. Bowl is smaller than I had imagined, but enough room for a small betta.

This tank is too small. I don’t even have my teeny female betta in a bowl this little. Be kind to your fish and give him some more room to turn his little fishy tail around!

Betta’s need to be in 3-10 gallon tanks by themselves (5 or larger and you might be able to add compatible fish, though I wasn’t willing to risk it). In the wild, they live in rice paddies which are thousands of gallons of swimming space and naturally aerated and filtered, and only live in “small puddles” for about 2 or 3 months (at most) out of the year during the dry season.

What’s more, while Wild bettas may be able to take smaller conditions longer and survive better, the fancy bettas we see in the stores today are not nearly as durable or hardy and need more stimulation and space.

I would MAYBE keep a single guppy in here for a day, but thats about it. And even then I wouldn’t recommend it.

DO NOT BUY THIS. As the previous reviewer said it’s cruel. Just because fish aren’t puppies or kittens doesn’t mean they should be abused for aesthetic value alone.

I’m a betta hobbist and I know about all the misconceptions that betta can live in just about anything and it is bogus. This “aquarium” is way too small, betta require atleast one gallon of water and that needs to be cleaned 1-2x weekly atleast. This is probably 1/2 gallon or less meaning you either clean it every day, t hus stressing your betta out and killing it or let is die a slow death from ammonia burns and other ills. This also has no lighting leave betta looking dull and boring, no heating or ability to heat so your house must stay warm where your betta is and it just isn’t good. You can also buy large Critter Carriers (2-3 gallons) for the same price or less, it wouldn’t be great, but it’d be a heck of a lot better.

Sorry, but this IS too small for a betta. If you seriously cannot fit a 2+ gallon fish tank in your dorm room, you should complain to someone. A 2.5 gallon aquarium takes up little more horizontal space than a ruler. You seriously cannot fit a ruler in your dorm room?

This is not a bargain product. My local Petland Discounts sells FIVE GALLON tanks for less than this. As for the accessories:

-Stiff plastic plants can rip fins. Silk or live plants are far better, and silk plants are available in the reptile section of most pet stores for only a few dollars.

-Lights are not necessary unless you have light plants. They are a very unreliable heat source and prevent a natural sleep/wake cycle. (Yes, fish sleep. They’re alive.) Furthermore, bettas do not like bright lights.

-Betta water conditioner is a rip-off. You can get a huge bottle of far superior water conditioner like StressCoat and it will last a very long time.

-Hikari or Attison’s pellets are recommended by experts. This food is usable, but it’s like comparing Friskies to Science Diet. Not worth the money.

You can easily set up a much more habitable environment for your betta without these silly “kits.” If you do not have the space for a properly-sized tank, you should not be living in a cardboard box. And if you are unwilling to make space, you do not need a pet.

My daughters each have a betta and each of the fish live in his own Bettacube. The fish have been healthy and happy in their cubes for several months now. There seems to be plenty of room both for the fish and for the cool decor which we purchased separately and added to the cubes. Bettas are a new pet for us, and I’m glad we chose this particular home for them. As an added bonus for us, the flat glass of the square cube gives a really nice view of the fish, rather than the distorted view of a round bowl.

This small, stylish fish tank is great for bettas. It looks great anywhere, so it’s like a piece of furniture.

It’s large enough for my betta to swim around in, all over the place. Maybe two female bettas could live in this tank; just an estimation. I only use it for one which makes him happy.

The seller made sure the item was not damaged during shipping; so I wouldn’t worry about that.

The only problem I have with this tank is that it doesn’t come with a screen cover. So a cat could easily get inside and to the betta. But that’s my fault for not reading the product description carefully enough! Haha. I just put the tank up higher.

I bought this as a temp home for a betta until I got her a larger living space. it’s great for that. I now use it as a hospital tank for my bettas to recover in, w/o gravel it makes medicating easy and travel time to the surface is shorter for the sick fish wich is a plus.

I would never recomend this as a permanent home for a betta. the general rule is 1 gallon for every inch of fish.

My son received a beta as a gift, and when we went to the store to buy an aquarium, the clerk recommended this tank, and also recommended getting a second beta to add. In hindsight, he wasn’t looking out for our fish, but for his profit.

Even though betas CAN live in small spaces, I would not recommend it. Even for one beta, this tank is too small. It gets dirty easily and needs to be cleaned once a week, which is an immense stress on the fish. The fake plants provided with the tank don’t help with the water quality either.

For now, we moved our beta to a large glass baking bowl, and we are in the process of shopping for a larger tank with an undergravel filter and live plants, plus a heater. I absolutely agree with the other review: If you can’t afford a good tank for your fish, don’t get one. Betas like space, too.
